Full text searching

    Hello all,

    I have SQL Server2000 running on Windows XP and I want to install Microsoft search service is that possible?

    I want to use full text indexing provided that I am not able not to change my Operating system or switch to Sql Server 2005

    Yes you can install the full text searching service.

    Try

    Put in the SQL Server CD, run the auto install, go through the normal install route and just tick the Fulltext search option in the custom instalation area. That should be all you need.

    After this is all done you may need to enable fulltext searching in each of your databases though, I can't remember if the install will do this for you.
