Full Text Search service is red...green..red...

    Another mystery...

    SQL2K Cluster on Win2k

    The FullText Search service will not start.

    From EM the service turns to greeen, then goes back to red, then green again etc, etc

    The MS Search service seems OK, I can query the system catalog. The cluster resource looks alright. I have found several references to the following in my search for an answer

    "Important If full-text search is installed on the computer, do not change the MSSQLServer account information in the Services application in the Control Panel. While the Microsoft Search service is always assigned to the local system account, it keeps track of the MSSQLServer service account. You must change the MSSQLServer service account in SQL Server Enterprise Manager for the Microsoft Search service to stay in sync."

    This may well be relevant - anyone got any ideas on how to get them back in sync ??

  • Try changing it back to SystemAccount in Services then rechange in EM.
