Full text enabled database upgrade from SQL 2000 to 2005? Best practice

    Hello,

    I have been searching and found some article and pages that talks about upgrading database (not the instance) from SQL 2000 to 2005.

    1) Backup and restore

    2) detach and attach

    I have database on SQL 2000 with full text catalog enabled and catalog attached to it. I wanted to know what is the best way to do the migration from SQL 2000 instance to another SQL 2005 instance.

    Any help would be helpful?

    Here is how I will do it 2000 Full Text is run from the Microsoft Search Service and 2005 is internal so, I would either Backup and restore or Detach and Attach to a test box. I will make sure it is 90 compatibility mode drop all the full text indexes and create new native 2005 versions. If that works then I will move this database to production with all new indexes.
