Full backups and log shipping

    Can I do a full database backup while doing log shipping?

    Hi Jerry,

    A full backup on the primary server won't damage log shipping. A full backup on the secondary server will break the LSN chain, so don't do that. Also, it might be an idea to test restore your primary full backups to another location now and again - just to make sure they're valid.
