Hi Folks
I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition on a new Windows 2008 server and after receiving the ISO image to use. I get an error right off the bat trying to run:
Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 installation has failed
SQL Server 2008 Setup requires .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed.
I know from reading SQL Server 2008 install notes and watching videos, that the install program is suppose to install it as well as Windows installer.
I assume that applies to developer edition also.
Anyone know why I am getting an error already?
Thanks
Jim

I usaully install the .NET framework prior to trying to install SQL Server. I will tend to install it and then Windows Update to patch it to current.

Hi
Still no luck
when i try to install 3.5 manually all i get is
"Setup Error"
nothing else
i look in event viewer and i see:
Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. Product Version: 3.5.21022. Product Language: 0. Installation success or error status: 0.
Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 -- Installation completed successfully.
