Free Query Tool

  • Could someone recommend a good free query tool? thanks

  • Not sure what you mean. Management Studio can be used a query tool, and the Express version is free. Is that what you mean?

  • sorry for the confusion.

Management Studio provided the overall server info, we don't want anyone be able to access it. Some persons just need to know the database structure, and be ables to write and execute query, just like query analyzer 2000 provided.

    thanks

You can use Query Analyzer 2000 to query a SQL 2005 database.

  • Or you can set up a group that has the level of access you want, and no more than that, and let them use Management Studio. That's better than hoping that they'll be limited by the tool's shortcomings.
