I've noticed that when I submit a post, the carriage returns are removed.
This makes readability poor as everything is just word-wrapped. Sometimes I use carriage returns to 'set off' part of my post.
Can it be 'fixed' to allow carriage returns?

Used to happen to me, even on old site. I've gotten in the habit of putting an extra space at the end of each line before I cut & paste from Q/A. That seemed to help alot.
The old site had a "Code" "EndCode" bracketet mode. Is there anything like that on this new site?
Also, I seem to loose my tab indentations when posting coce from Q/A into a message post here.

I'll try that with the extra carriage return. But if you haven't noticed, you lose the carriage returns even when you are just typing in your thread itself.
I put a single carriage return after the word itself. above and look what happened.

Test Post: [This line has space at end]
From Q/A w/o ending space:[This line has space at end]
Q/A test Post
This Line has 1 tab indent at beginning
This line has 4 spaces at beginning
[This line has space at end]
From Q/A with ending space:[This line has space at end]
Q/A test Post
This Line has 1 tab indent at beginning
This line has 4 spaces at beginning

Seems to handle my C&P from Q/A alright, just the tab indent does not look great

Whoopss! I misread your post and used an extra carriage return (blank line). I'll try the extra space now.
But like I said, even just this post I'm making now. The line that starts with "But like..." was a new paragraph. It should stay a new paragraph, but it doesn't.
After "doesn't." I put two spaces and one carriage return (blank line). Let's see if that works. But regardless, a blank line in my typing should stay a blank line in my post.

Agree that losing blank lines doesnt make sense. Not something we're doing on purpose, will look into this as well.
