format decimal in modify() XML method

  Hi,

  In my XML file, the following format is being generated: 0

  It was to be generated with this format: 0.00

  I'm using it:

  declare @mydecimal decimal(12,2) = 0.00;

  ...

  SET @myXml.modify('insert <tag1 value1=''{sql:variable("@mydecimal")}''/>');

  ...

  <tag1 value1="0"> -- as is showing

  ...

  <tag1 value1="0.00"> -- as it should be!

  I've used convert, but it did not work ..

  I am not at my desk, so cannot check but thoughts are:

  Use an xml schema to define the data type?

  Format the value in a VARCHAR variable instead of a decimal, then use the varchar variable in the .modify?
