Foreign Characters

    hi,

    i have created a database for a Polish establishment, importing their previous data from MS Access into MSSS 2005 and found their polish characters have not been carried over with the exception of one. the characters are present in the Access db, does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be (why one xter is carried over and not the others)? and possibly a way around the problem?

    Are you using CHAR fields or NCHAR?

    i'm using varchar

    Try using nvarchar - this will give you a much bigger character set than varchar
