FOR XML

    Hi,

    When I run a SELECT statement with FOR XML AUTO option in the Query Analyser, the XML returned is all in one long string. How can I make it to come out like an XML document?

    The long string returned is an XML document, its just not pretty-printed. You could select Tools > Options > Results in Query Analyser, and change the default results target to "Results to file...". This allows you to save the output to a file and you can then open the file in an editor that will allow you to view the XML pretty-printed.
