I have an RS2000 report project that is working nicely. I have embedded the links to the reports into my web application. They come up fine but they prompt for username and password. Most of the users accessing these reports are being authenticated via the application, they do not have usernames and passwords on the local server and the server is not on a domain.
Is there any way to have the link include a fixed username and password to access the reports?
Thanks,
Eva

in RS2000 I don't know for sure but in RS2005, you can set connection properties to your datasource to "use credentials stored securely on Report Server". You just make sure you have a SQL login created that has access to the database and enter that login and password.

The issue is actually not the SQL login. That part is contained in my connection string. I was actually looking for a way to do the IIS authentication.

If you are using the ReportViewer control in VS 2005 in your application, it is possible to pass into the report a fixed username and passowrd for authentication. There's more info on it at http://blogs.msdn.com/bimusings/archive/2005/11/18/494436.aspx.
