Finding the SSIS packages

  • Hi,

I have migrated the dts packages from a 2000 box to a 2005 box and during the migration I was asked for the location as where do you want to save the packages. I stored them in the local drive and the migration continued , everything went fine until recently I discovered an issue:

    1) when I open my BIDS , i dont see the packages that I have migrated to the local drive. I am not able to run the packages. When I go to the location where I saved them and try to open them . I do not see the run option at the top in BIDS when I right click on package and select edit

How can I make these packages visible automatically when anyone open BIDS on the 2005 box??

  • I think you can add those packages from the menu bar in the start page like project->add existing package. try that...

  • I think thats correct ssismaddy, create a New Project in BIDS and then add those packages in that project ...

Thats how I got my old DTS's to work 😉
