Hello experts,
Is there any way to set up an Extended Events session so that it captures events for only one database?
If filtering by database is not possible, what are the options for reducing the size of the session as much as possible?
The reason I ask is that it seems like Extended Events logs a lot of data. I'm trying to use Extended Events for a proposed upgrade to SQL Server 2012 to find features that are deprecated or discontinued in SQL 2012.
Thanks for any help!

yes you can filter on Database_id or database_name, the same way you could with a server side trace.
here's a screenshot using 2012's GUI to build an extended event session:

Is anything like this available for SQL Server 2008 R2?
Or do I need to install SQL 2012 (such as Developer Edition) in order to use database filters in the GUI for Extended Events on my pre-SQL 2012 databases?
Thanks again!
