Hi, I am new to Cubes and Analysis Manager. Does any body know how I can use Filters (i.e. where clause) in Cubes and dimensions. I can achieve through Views. But I need directly in Cubes and Dimensions in Analysis Manager. Thanks Nilesh |

Ok, I found it out. In case any body needs... In Analysis Manager select the Cube and set "Source Table Filter" in Advanced Property. For more help search for "Filter Expressions" in SQL help by setting the search filter to Analysis Services. Cheers !! nilesh |

For what its worth...
SQL 2005 has a very nice way of accomplishing this through the use of a data source view (DSV). It is more effective than the source table filter in SQL 2000 because it doesn't operate a passthrough query and allows you to define all of your filters in one place.
DSVs rock by the way. They facilitate disconnected building of AS objects - a fantastic (and absolutely necassary) advancement.
cheers
