Hi all,
I am running Windows Server 2019, SQL Server 2019, Windows Fail over cluster and Availability Groups. The cluster and the nodes are in the same sub net
My file share witness was fine until one day it went off line. I cannot bring on line, I cannot remove it and my cluster event log has the following message
[RES] File Share Witness <File Share Witness>: Failed to create or open directory \\path... error 5
I check the CNO in AD and it was enabled and looked fine, I did find the CNO did not have Share access to the folder, so I added it to a group that would give it access at the Share level as well as NTFS. Still the FSW would not come on line.
I was finally able to get the FSW on line after giving "Everyone" Share access to the top level folder
Q: Do I need to restart something for these permissions to propagate down?
Q: Has anybody else seen his problem before
Any help is appreciated.
Jeff
