File purge maintenance plan

    That's because Oct 31st falls on a Saturday 🙂

The all the file types are prefixed as cur*.txt

The calendar table already exists as dbo.tblAcctPeriod

    Thanks!

Thanks, but not of that really tells me anything useful. Here's what I asked for before and I still need it to help.

Please post 4 different file names that you wish to process. I also need you to post the CREATE TABLE statement for your calendar table.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • Heh... Not sure what it'll take so I'll ask one more time for you to help me help you... please post the CRATE TABLE statement for the calendar table and be sure to include indexes and constraints.

Also, the data in the spreadsheet is not readily consumable by most folks. Please read and heed the article at the first link in my signature below for how to post readily consumable data. Folks will likely jump through hoops as well as providing a fully tested solution for you if you simply take the time to help them a bit.

I'll check on this tomorrow night... I'm nowhere near an SQL Server for about the next 30 hours.
