Does SQL Standard have a free edition or trial version?.
I know express,evaluation and developer.

No you'll have to pay for Standard Edition.

I think you can run it on an evaluation licence for six months. After that, you have to either pay for it or stop using it. That was the case last time I tried that, anyway, which I think was for SQL Server 2014.

There is a trial version of Enterprise edition. Also, starting with SQL Server 2016, the Developer edition is free. Developer edition has all the features of Enterprise edition but is limited to one user connection and non-production use.

I suppose you could use the Evaluation or Developer edition and check it using sys.dm_db_persisted_sku_features to see if any Enterprise only features are being used in the database. With the more recent versions though the feature differences between Standard and Enterprise is fewer.
