Fast way to create temp table from existing table definition

  • Ohhh... Sorry KG... my comments weren't directed at you personally...

I've even seen some of the big dogs in SQL perpetuate such myths and that was my point to everyone. Don't do the 5 monkeys thing... just because someone (even Microsoft) says something , it's good to either do your own test or run some test code that someone else made to verify the findings. If you have the opportunity to help someone else out with the same problem, also forward the test code whether you make it or borrowed it... keeps myths and SQL Clones from happening.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • That's cool , no offence was taken... it was my slightly dry sense of humour 😀

I don't mind being corrected or proved wrong at any time, its the only way to continue to learn. If i went around with blinkers on i'd miss most of the good stuff.

Altho saying that, i'm going to do some tests locally just to prove it to myself 😛

  • Let us know how the tests work out... even if it's just confirmation but especially if you find something new or different. 🙂
