  • ESPN will do 20 people, so keep that in mind.

I'll throw out a $50 Amazon GC as a prize, maybe see if I can do a couple for top few.

  • So, when, where, how is all this going to start?

  • Ideally, we'll want an even number of people in the league and I'd rather not go more than 16 teams. So, if we get one to three more, I'll cut off the "first" league and set a draft date, which will be in the next 3 weeks.

If we get more interest, as Steve said, we'll either need to start a second league or expand our original.

How about this: I'll cut our first league off on Friday (8/20), set a draft date and we'll go from there. This weekend you can begin researching and finalizing your draft.

An online, live draft makes sense, with those that don't want to attend using the auto draft function. What times work best for everyone, a daytime, lunch hour type draft or an after hours, at home type? I realize we're from lots of different time zones, just chime in and I'll try and get close to what the group chooses. Not going to be able to please everyone, though.

  • I'm in, if there's still room. I'm on the east coast, and would be keen on a live draft, depending on my availability (meetings, etc.). I like the auto-pick idea as well.

Dan - your profile pic is amazing. I've got a shirt that says "Mark it Zero, Dude" from the same scene. The tag on the back says "Not intended for little Urban Achievers under the age of 12".

Looking forward to this - thanks, Steve for throwing in a carrot!

    "Calmer than you are, dude..."

  • Woohoo, our 14th. And a Lebowski fan to boot; you and I are now good friends.

I love it when I get compliments and quotes on the movie! If I ever start a consulting business, it's going to be "Sobchak Security".

    "Yeah, well....the Dude abides."

  • Evenings are best for me. Being on the west coast that might make it tough for others so I can be flexible. Auto-draft if necessary.

  • Evenings would be better, I can't access non-work related sites from work. A weekend draft would be better, imo, as it would make it easier to coordinate across time zones. By the way, I'm in the Mountain Zone.

  • I like live drafts. I play in a live draft league every year. But with our geographical diversity, it might be too difficult to get a time suitable to everyone. If we can, I'm all for it. If not, I'm fine with that too.

  • Being in the UK, I guess I'm in the minority so a time doesn't really bother me too much apart from weekend being slightly more preferable. Quite happy to stay up for a live draft, the wife already thinks I'm daft because I've done it before for an NFL.COM live draft (was about 4:00 in the morning I think).

    The names Paul btw.

  • I agree with doing the draft on a weeknight or weekend. I am in eastern standard time zone.

  • Add me if there is still room.

  • Nice, our 15th. We really should have 16 though, hopefully someone chimes in by the end of the day (or the weekend). I can probably get a friend or coworker to play if we don't hear from an SSC colleague (if y'all are okay with that).

  • Whoa! I'm in, if there's still room!

  • BTW.. when is the draft day?

  • Also, what site are you going to set it up on? Yahoo, CBS, something else?
