i need help, im on my first day on my new work and my fist task is to implement failover clustering on windows 2003 server and sql 2000, but the use of MSCS is not possible because of active directory issues, if there any way to implement failover clustering without MSCS? thanks

You can install a "simple" AD Domain in machines will clustering, if your network cannot comport a Domain.
OR
You can use Log Shipping (Manual Fail-Over)
OR
You can use Replication (Manual Fail-Over)
OR
You can use a solution Cluster from another provider (Veritas Cluster, etc.) (Automatic Fail-Over)

Just to add another one to the pot, you can also use Double-Take which is similar to some of the others mentioned above.
I'd suggest that you get the AD issues sorted first and then go for MSCS, but ultimately it's up to you.

Just what are "AD issues" ??? If you've got a Domain, I see no reason why you should not be able to cluster servers and then install a SQL Server cluster. If the domain issues are 'that serious' then maybe a realignment of proirities is in order as Mike suggests.
