Hello
im going to install a sql server2008 on a win server 2008 cluster, i check the failover cluster manager validation test and gives me this 2 warning in the resource 3:
-This resource is not configured to use the standard health check interval for the resource type. A health check is a periodic test to verify that the resource is functioning properly. There are 2 categories of heath checks and each health check is specific to the resource type. The basic health is scheduled more frequently and is usually a simpler and quicker test. The thorough health check is usually more complicated and may take more time or system resources; therefore it is scheduled less frequently. Each resource type has a default interval for each health check. The default setting is generally recommended, but there may be situations where other values may be preferable. This setting can be configured in Failover Cluster Manager by selecting 'Properties' and then selecting the 'Advanced Properties' tab.
-This resource is not configured to use the standard 'Pending timeout' value for the resource type. 'Pending timeout' specifies the length of time the resource can take to change states between Online and Offline before the Cluster service puts the resource in the Failed state. The default setting is generally recommended, but there may be situations where other values may be preferable. This setting can be configured in Failover Cluster Manager by selecting 'Properties' and then selecting the 'Policies' tab.
the Network Manager (who installs and configure the failover) said than this warning doesnt matters because storage 3 are witness, but i want to confirmn that...
when i try to install the sql server gives me these 2 warnings ....
Rule "Network binding order" generate a warning
The domain network is not the first bound network. this will cause domain operations to run slowly and can cause timeouts that result in failures. Use the Windows network advanced configuration to change the binding order
Rule "Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) cluster verification warnings" generated a warning.
the MSCS cluster has been validated but there are warnings in the MSCS cluster validation report, or some test were skipped while running the validation. To continue, run validation from the Windows Cluster Administration tool to ensure that the MSCS cluster validation has been run and that the MSCS cluster validation report does not contain errors
please some help!

Well, all problems up gone except this one......(in the validation of the SQL Server 2008R2 install)
Rule "Network binding order" generate a warning

do you think than this warning can be problematic to the failover install? or i can pass it
please comments....

ok how many NICs does each node have? Have you been into adapter settings and set the network binding orders (hit the ALT key and an advanced menu appears)

the pictures arent really that helpful. You need to go into network sharing center and check adapter settings. In here hit the ALT key and a menu bar appears. From here access advanced settings and check the adapter bindings.
Windows 2008 has extensive network changes and doesnt actually require a dedicated heartbeat anymore. See this Microsoft KB article

can you ping each other ?
are these NIC connect directly to eachother ?
