No. You need a server OS to do clustering and failover. XP won't let you do a cluster.

Hi Ashwin
what you can do on XP is to set up a virtual SQL Server 2008 cluster. For this you will need the following
multi core processor
3 GB RAM
Windows 2003 Server Enterprise
SQL Server 2008 Std, Ent or Dev
VMWare Server 2.0 (or Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1)
Check my tutorial at the following link to help achieve the virtual cluster. The document has steps for installing SQL Server 2005, once the cluster has been deployed simply install SQL Server 2008 instead of 2005
creating a windows 2003 cluster
