isn't that what private messages are for?

I had additional questions which I posted after marking Phil's great answer (by the way) as the answer.

When i saw there was a posted reply to my question i rushed to sqlservercentral to check it out, as i was struggling with my SSIS problem, only to find out you had reposted something Phil had already written.

It *is* distracting and disheartening, because I was really struggling with something. Don't do it anymore please.  I marked that post as spam, which if you are honest with yourself, it is.

Looks like it was a quoted reply and not really a repost of Phil's answer...just like this is a quoted reply. I saw it as a compliment to Phil as he is great with coming up with SSIS solutions for various questions.
I've had times where some posts have irritated me but that doesn't make them spam. And it was usually me that needed to put things in perspective. Through the years, I have often seen "side" comments like that on all forums which seem to be just encouragement for the person trying to help out. I hope you consider that it may not be as bad as you might be making it out to be.

Thank you, Sue.  That's exactly how I meant it and I'm glad you read it the was it was intended.

  • it was false hope of someone furthering the post.  That's my perspective. Hope it has value to you.

  • You should take a little pause on complaining about lack of answers and take time to ask a question.

The one in the 1st post appeared to be answered.

    If not - explain why.

  • Sergiy, where did I complain about a lack of answers?

I marked the post as solved, i then had an issue with it and posted a followup.  Anyone who can read it can see that.  Anyone who reads this without filter can see I am not complaining about lack of answer.
I appreciate your help, and I'm just saying that i would appreciate if you didn't repost a prior answer if it doesn't serve any purpose other than talk to your buddy.  Seems fair but it appears that my perspective about reposting an answer Phil already gave, as being needless, is just some lone opinion of mine.  Fine.   I'll roll with it.  It's still a good forum thanks to you, the brilliant guys and girls who help me with my questions.

As far as I'm concerned this issue has received plenty of support for Ed Wagner and that's where it stands. OK. I am done talking about it. Cool.
