Hello Everyone
I created a simple data pump package, and saved it to my local SSIS Server.
Once a SSIS Package has been pushed out to a SSIS Server, even if it is on the Local box. Is there a way to see or open the Solution, or the package, other than just the XML file, back in BIDS?
I would like to see what the wizard creates for some of the steps. This would also come into play to have the ability to view or edit the Package that someone else has created, and not having the original solution or project file that BIDS would normally create.
Thank you in advance

A shortcut I use to view the file is to change the DTSX extension to XML and then drag the file into the IE browser.

I have no problem in doing that, actually looking at the XML. What I was wondering, is there a way to turn the XML code, into the Solution or project, so that all the steps can be viewed in BIDS. Kind of a reverse engineering.
Thanks
Andrew

Of course you can.
Create a new Integration Services project, then right-click SSIS Packages in Solution Explorer and 'Add Existing Package.'
Then you're good to go.

Thanks Phil
I never even thought of that. How silly of me
