Expire DB Backup files

    I have scheduled DB backups to expire after 7 days, however when I look in the backup directory there are .bak files that older than seven days. The Maintenance Plan is not cleaning up the Backup directory like it is supposed to resulting in limited disk space.

    any ideas??

    I actually had this problem today and changed it to *.* and it worked. Give that a shot.

    Are you SP2? there was a problem with this in SP2, one of the CUs post SP2 fixes this.

    Did you tried to attach a Maintenance Cleanup task after your backup? I think you will have better luck.
