I heard in INDIA, its growing very fast...

The average package for sql server dba 3yrs exp would go around 7 lac INR (15,555 $)annually

Again it depends on the Job location and experience and ofcourse the company that is hiring you! Big 5 companies in metros may be able to pay that compensation but you don't expect the same in smaller cities.

If I am not wrong in India at present you can ask around 20% more on the currnet salary.
But still Depend on Company, requirement, roles & responsibilities etc....

I've not seen it to be so. I will say that some companies won't even look at someone that has no degree. I also believe that's a mistake because there are a lot of people out there who are masters of the art known as "DBA" who don't have a degree.

I am having 4yr as Application support exc. and 1 yr as Jr. Dba and in Dec 11. I got new job with a 40% hike with no night shift. Now My CTC is 3L/A.

Sushant answer is Yes. My condidature was canceled by Clover infotech mumbai in April 11, due to i was purshing my final year but not completed. I passed there all test but do not have a degree.. I completed and got DBA job in Dec11. While I was MCTS .

On the flip side of that, it has never affected me. I also don't look at any pedigree when I'm the one doing the interview or the hiring.
