Expanding Columns in SSRS Report

  • Hey,

I am having one requirement pertinent to expand and hide columns based on click of  plus sign in column header of previous column in SSRS.

Please find attached screenshot for the report.By default  AP and CR columns should not be displayed , while user clicks on '+', both columns should be displayed.

    Points to confirm:
                                   1. Is it possible to have something like '+' in column header which can be clicked ?
                                   2. If yes then how to set visibility of other columns based on action of user ?

Awaiting for prompt and accurate answers.

  • Yes, it's possible. Have you have a look at the visibility options in SSRS? If you haven't, you'll probably quickly see how to do it; there's an option in there aptly named "Display can be toggled by this report item:". If you get stuck please do show what you've tried, as it'll be far easier to push you in the right direction with some actual content.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks SSC Guru for providing suggestion relevant to "Display can be toggled by this report Item" . It really worked for me. Steps which have been followed by me are as below.
                      1. Inserted textbox in header of column 'U'.
                      2. Apply settings in column visibility for columns 'AP' and 'CR'. In which select ID of textbox which has been added in step 1 in option "Display can be toggled by this report Item"
