When excluding database components from anti-virus - is it necessary to remove the sql binaries (e.g sqlservr.exe) from the av scan or is it just database files?

we only exclude mdf, ndf and ldf....but thats only us....

It depends as i was using MacAfee antivirus and had some trouble sending e-mail out using database mail from SQL machine. I have added exception for databasemail90.exe and sqlservr.exe.
