Hello again,
I have a standard DTS transformation using an Active X Script, XlS to SQl table.
I have noticed that some of the data from the Excel is coming thru as nulls where it should be something.
I noticed that the offending data points where numeric in value. I changed the xls columns to 'Text'. I also scripted the Active X script to change to strings and ect..
I still get nulls where it should be values.
Any ideas?
Office 2000
SQL 2000
Thanks in advance.

ARe all the values for the column NULL? If so have you tried to transform the column by itself? Also is this column computed?

Just some of the values for that column are turning up null after the DTS, the ones that were numeric.
I am doing ONE transformation for all values involved in lieu of multiple separate tansformations for each field. Does this make a difference? I thought it was always cleaner to go for one.
Cheers again.

The Column is not computed.
Example of data in xls column
758ghf
463304
ghdfj7
451121
The items that are numeric in value come thru as nulls. The table column they go into is a varchar.
Has anyone had this type of problem with xls column values DTSing as nulls??
Thanks
