I have run into an interesting problem today in regard to our cubes. Excel is no longer able to connect to SSAS. I get a the error "Cannot connect to the server "#######". The server is either not started or too busy." Now I have ensured that SSAS is running - I have connected and browsed to the cubes in SSMS. The funky thing is my existing data connections for excel are able to connect to the cubes just fine. It is only the new connections that aren't being allowed. Every end user in our company is experiencing this problem - any ideas as to what would be happening?
Thanks!

There was no server update at all? You can see this when the local drivers are a lower version than the server.

There wasn't. However - I checked for new MS Office updates and applied those and I am now able to connect just fine. Still not entirely sure what happened since we have automatic updates turned off and neither the personal computers or the servers were updated. Thanks for the response though!
