Hey all,
I'm having an odd experience importing Excel sheets into SQL 2000 using DTS. Some of the text fields containing '-' are changed to '/'.
The column in question is formatted as text. When I search it for '/' I find none at all. When I search the whole sheet the find sometimes hits on a different column containing dates all of which only have '-'.
Is there a formatting behaviour in Excel that could cause this?
much appreciated!

I have some ideas of what you could check.
Could some windows system setting be formatting the date with a hyphen?
What kind of transformation is used to transfer the date column to the varchar? Is it a column copy transformation? Or a date transformation? You may have the wrong setting there.
I hope you figure this out.
