excel cant connect to sql server

    excel2k7 to sql server 2k5

    msg:

    unable to connect to data source. reaseon: unable to locate database server. verify that the db server name you entered is correct, or contact the db amdinistartor for help

    p.s. access can't connect either.

    any help will be appreaciated.

    I have connected both excel and access to 2005 without problems.  For excel I connected through the excel data connection interface.  On access I connected with an ADP.
