Marc,
I 've seen a presentation related to EVA some months ago. We use an EMC CX500 disk array (we 'll upgrade to CX700). According to our storage consultants (coming from EMC), EVA5000 offers a different technology which in some cases can cause many problems:
a) there is no way to isolate an I/O intensive database file from the other database files, because files are spread on the whole array.
b) Database files with different I/O needs (database files, Transaction Logs, Tempdb) may exist in the same LUN's.
Those are the drawbacks a I remember.
