Hello!
I'm in the process of exploring replication options. Transaction replication with push subscription seems desirable, but it also has significantly more overhead.
How do I estimate the replication overhead? Is there a formula of some sort?
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

Hi Kim,
Not aware of a formula of any kind. A good start is to identify the amount of transactions per hour during business and off-business hours. Taking regular log backups on your potential published database can help to see when there are peaks and when there are off-peaks. And then, what kind of network will you use between the publisher and the subscriber(s). And how many subscribers ? It depends on many factors.
Can you give a little more details on your targetted architecture ?
Thanks,
David B.
