Hi,
yesterday I received an Error: 818, Severity: 19, State: 1 message from one of my sql servers. I have tried looking around for descriptions, but have come to no real conclusions so far. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it.
Below is the error description that I am getting.
There is no room to hold the buffer resource lock BUF pointer = 0x11be600, page ptr = 0xa2f20000, pageid = (0x1:0x15db5), dbid = 2, status = 0xb, file = H:\MicrosoftSQLServer\MSSQL\data\tempdb.mdf in SDES SDES pointer = 0x33f3700. Contact Technical Support.
Thanks
Tom

Bill,
Thanks, I have already looked at that one. From how I am the kb, that process will lock the table(s) and block others, and in order to remove the lock, you need to re-start the service. But, the spid was dropped ?? and a new connection has already taken that ID.
