Hi ,
I am unable to create maintenance plan for (deleting old backups)on one of my reference server.
When i am trying to create a maintenance plan which is throughing following error.
Method not found: 'Void Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.DatabaseMaintenance.TaskUIUtils..ctor()'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.MaintenancePlanWizard).
When i google it something i found that there is version missmatch between sqlserver and client tool (management studio).
Deatils :
Engine version :9.0.4035
Studio version :9.00.1399.0.

Yes, you need your versions to be close, or to match. You can install only client tools from the media, however if these are both SQL Server 2005, likely you just need a CU or SP on your local machine.
4035 is SP3 and the other one looks like RTM. There was an SP2 patch in 2005, so you might just want to patch your local tools
