Hi,
I am on a Windows 2003 server and when the installation goes through the setup, I get this error:
COM Plus Catalog Requirement (Warning)
Messages
COM Plus Catalog Requirement
If SQL Server Setup fails, Setup will roll back the installation but may not remove all .manifest files. The workaround is to rename the files and then rerun Setup. For more information, see How to: Work Around COM+ Check Failure in SQL Server Setup
So I followed the Work Around suggestions and tried to rename the manifest files and rerun the setup, but I get an error that the error failed. Has anyone run into this problem and how did you resolve it and get SQL 2005 installed?
Thanks,
Isabelle

Has no one run into this problem? The install error said to rename the .manifest files and rerun the installer again. I did a search of all the .manifest files and the sys admin moved them to a temporary folder and immediately Windows started freaking out and throwing out errors. He rebooted the machine and now we can't get it back up. Does anyone know what these .manifest files are for and why would Windows die by the sysadmin moving them instead of renaming them as the error instructed us to do?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Isabelle
