error when restoring the db

  • I am getting following error when restoring the db:

    The database 'ABC' is marked RESTORING and is in a state that does not allow recovery to be run.

    whats going on here?

  • - is that database configured "autoclose on" ?

    - if yes, it needs a restore-step to be opened again.

    (keep in mind SSMS doesn't autorefresh the object-browser pane)

    whats going on here?

    Run an alter database

    alter database testdb

    set recovery full

    Now restart your restore again.
