Error upon opening someone else's dtsx Error at Case Card ETL Daily []: Failed to decrypt protected XML node "DTS:Property"

  • I am wondering what this means and steps I would take to avoid getting this message ?

I know the package authors of the dtsx file(s) that I am opening ..

Strangely, I can ignore this message and explore and use package regardless of this message.

It's usually from the protection level setting for the package -
Access Control for Sensitive Data in Packages
