Hello,
I'm the new guy that was tasked with creating a new report.
I've created the report and viewed it. It looks great. I'm trying to deploy the report and it is giving me this error.
Error: "The item '/Data Sources' already exists."?!
I created a new shared datasource for this report. Can't that go in the same folder as the other data sources?
I'm a tad bit confused here. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Tony
Things will work out. Get back up, change some parameters and recode.

OK...pretty simple.
These is a folder that has shared datasources. If in the properties you have Overwritedatasources set to false, it can't delete whatever folder you have designated in TargetDataSourcesFolder.
Either change the Overwritedatasources to true or enter a new name for the data source folder for this report.
It took awhile, but as usual, when you see the answer it is so simple.

By the way, it is in the project properties of your reporting project where you can set the OverwriteDataSources property.

I have the same problem except I am using an existing data source. Changing the "Overwrite Data Sources to either True of False has no effect.

I have the same problem got solved by add permission in 'Data Source' folder.
refer to:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Database/MS-SQL-Server/MS-SQL_Reporting/Q_24852163.html
So in other words, the developers need permission to the Data Sources folder as well, even though they aren't deploying any Data Sources...
