i was following some MS documentation to demonstrate how to use profiler and index wizard. I have actually come across this error a few times now.
I have checked all of MDSN to no avail.
There's not alot more i can say, I will re run this procedure tomorrow and inform what exactly i'm doing.
I'm using Windows 2000 with SQL 7.0
Thanks

Haven't had an issue and I've run the tuning wizard a few times. It can be slow and uses some resources. Is it possible you are running out of resources? Does the wizard run at all? When does it error out? what service pakc on SQL?

ok..I am running (Build 1381: Service Pack 6)
I run profiler from start menu. Click on tools, Index tuning wizard..etc etc. Select the workload file I created earlier. Select the table I want checking then click next and get the above error.
I did try it again with a table that has nothing to do with the trace and it got a step further but then seemed to freeze.
Doesn't seem like a general error so maybe a re-install of some of my software.
Cheers
Scott
