I was working on the reporting services tutorial and when i went on to deploy, i got thefollowing message
TITLE: Microsoft Semantic Model Designer

A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer.
------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. (Microsoft.ReportingServices.SemanticQueryDesign)
How do i start the the repoting server?

What SQL version are you running?
2005/2008
go to either "Services" in Computer Management (or type "services.msc") and look for Reporting Service
or better way is to go to Start -> Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server XXXX -> Configuration -> SQL Server Configuration Manager
then start the SSRS from there
