Error message : ''The cube''OlapObjects'' does not exist, or it is not processed''

  • Hello,

I am trying to register a server to the Analysis Manager on my PC and although it finds the computer to which the Analysis Server is installed when I try to connect I get the message:

'The cube'OlapObjects' does not exist, or it is not processed'

and then I see the server name but not the databases that are created in it.

Does anyone know what this means or what I should do?

P.S. We have a Microsoft® Windows NT® 4.0 system and I am an Olap Administrator at the computer I want to register.

  • Hi -- Although you mention you have Windows NT, it's not clear to me if your client machine that has Analysis Services manager installed is running the same OS.

In my personal experience when my PC was upgraded to Windows XP, I could no longer connect AS. The fix was to install Service Pack 3 (3a?) on my machine. I believe the latest service pack for AS is now 4. Go to Microsoft's website and search for analysis services service pack. You should only need to patch for AS (not the complete SQL server service pack).

  • Hi pete,

as far as the OS is concerned my client machine is running Windows XP whereas the machine I want to register is running Windows 2000. Do you think that this is the problem?

As far as service pack is concerned I have installed SP 3a in both PCs and still I get the same error message.

However, I figured out another way to get my job done (without registering the server).

    Thanks for answering,

    Athina
