Hi everyone... I need an expert advice... Ive been trying to install several times SQL Server 2008 developer edition. But I keep having the same error. Everything looks fine... until I open BIDS and try to make a new integration service package. First of all... the package has this error:
Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.OLE.Interop.IServiceProvider'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{A896D87C-D1B2-4FAE-9339-CFAFEFE617BE}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). (Microsoft.VisualStudio.OLE.Interop)
The other thing I can notice that I cant find any of the components Im used to see when I use Integration Services. OLE DB Source...and stuff like that... Instead I see components that I never used before... like radio buttons and stuff like that...
I tried re installing dll... and adding a functional *.reg extensions... but nothing seems to work for me... please give me clue !!!
Last time I installed I didnt have any warning/error whatever makes you think I did something wrong re installing sql 2008...and still got the same thing...
Thank you all guys =)

I came across similar situation as one of developer had same issue, re-installing BIDS had resolved issue. It started on his machine after he installed BIDS 2005 when he already had BIDS2008. I am not sure about your scenario but try re-installing.
