  Hi,

  I've just installed the Enterprise Edition of SQL Server 2000 on my local machine, running Windows 2000. As you know, only the client components are installed when this is done.

  The problem is that when I try to register my local machine as a new server, I get an error message to the effect that the server does not exist or is not available.

  Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

  Hi Jay,

  Are you using SQL or Windows authentication and named pipes or TCP/IP?
