Error during Initialization of provider

  I am trying to do a DTS export from SQL table to Excel. On the second screen of the DTS wizard, after I enter the output file for Excel , I get this error :

  Error Source: Microsoft Jet Database Engine

  Error Description : Not a valid account name or password

  Context: Error during initialization of the provider.

  This in on SQL2K with SP4. This error message shows up on the server as well as on a system with client tools.

  I have a different box with client tools (no service packs) and connecting to the same server. This one goes past the second screen without any error.

  What gives ?

  Try downgrading your version of the Excel file to save it in a "Excel 97 - Excel 2003" format.
