I have a x64 bit 2005 cluster and when I try to create a maintenance plan I get the following error: "Invalid column name 'from_msx'" "Invalid column name 'has_targets'". SSIS is installed and both nodes are on SP3. Thanks for any responses.

Check if the SP3 has been applied successfully or not? You also need to apply the recent patch(CU1).
Check this link this might help you.

It is an issue with the MSI installer and how the Cluster works in 64x bit edition ... mine was Windows 2008 though.. Have a read maybe it will be of help to you.
The problem was the resource database was not being updated by the patch... Thanks.
