Hello
Am getting this error message when ever a backup job is executed at a scheduled time.
Thread 0 error:
Error 605: Error creating backup file(s). No files could be created.
Error: Cannot open file "G:\database_backups\NL_Tools\NL_Tools.sqb". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
Error: Cannot open file "G:\database_backups\NL_Tools\NL_Tools.sqb". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
SQL Backup exit code: 500
I understand that there is a process which is accessing the file at the same time but would like to know and find out what the process is.....does anyone know a way around it?

Hi. There is a windows utility called Filemon which will show dynamic file usage.
You can get it at
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896642.aspx. In order to halt the screen refresh you will have to stop the capture function (an spyglass kind of icon).
There is also a replacement product called Processmon (which I have not used yet) found at:

Is your tape backup running and have you configured this file in the tape backup if so then you might get this error.
