Hi,
Executing an SSIS package from SSIS Server by right clicking on the package within SSMS and choosing EXECTUE PACKAGE throws the following error:The product level is insufficient for component "Unicode to Non-Unicode Data Conversion"
Executing the package from within BIDS or delegated to a job within SSMS works smoothly.
Can someone explain the technical reason behind this?
Thanks

Most likely the machine you're trying to run the package from doesn't have Integration Services installed on it.

Hi Old Hand,
Let me first thank you for the provided link.
Now the environment set up within I operate is as follows.
My machine is only loaded with sql server client tools such as: SSMS, SSBIDS, SQL Profiler and so on.
After saving a copy of the SSIS package onto the server and connecting to the server using SSMS should the package not be executed on the server and referencing all components registered on the server?
Thanks

You need SSIS installed on your machine.
