error 1418

  • Hi All,

Im getting below error while creating mirror, please suggest me on it

Error: 1418 - Microsoft SQL Server - The server network address can not be reached or does not exist. Check the network address name and reissue the command. The server network endpoint did not respond because the specified server network address cannot be reached or does not exist

  • First double check that both servers are up and can see each other, next check on both nodes that tcp/ip and named pipes are enabled.

  • Also make sure that the Windows Firewall is disabled

  • tcp/ip and named pipes are enabled and firewall option is set to OFF, still im getting same error

    Write FQDN.

    For example: ServerName.DomainName.com

  • Please attempt to use the IP address instead of the server name.

  • Well if the IP/FQDN doesn't resolve the issue can you confirm that the database was restored with the NO RECOVERY option on the secondary? Also run a select from sys.database_mirroring_endpoints and from the state column confirm it's started?

  • it is working fine now, thanks for all suggestions

  • Could you post the solution for others that may have a similar issue.
